Amazon's Favorable Treatment of Deshaun Watson Sparks Backlash from NFL Fans
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is set to start for Week 1 after being held out of the preseason finale against the New England Patriots.
Amazon's Prime Video broadcast drew criticism from viewers who felt the coverage was too favorable towards Watson, whose NFL career has been surrounded by controversy, including multiple accusations of sexual misconduct during massage appointments.
Watson joined the Amazon crew for a sideline interview after the game, where he discussed his comeback from consecutive Achilles injuries and his relationship with Browns' coach Todd Monken.
'I'm a guy that believes that everybody deserves second opportunities,' said Kirk Herbstreit during the segment, referencing Watson's past performance as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
