Amazon's Fire TV Update Brings Ads Galore, But Users Have Found a Fix
Amazon's recent update to its Fire TV OS has brought about a new design and improved integration with Amazon services like Alexa+, but it has also introduced a plethora of intrusive ads that can slow down older streaming sticks.
Jade Bryan, a feature author at Android Police, recently discovered the problem firsthand and found an easy fix to stop or avoid these ads from intruding on his Fire TV experience.
The new interface is designed to showcase larger content tiles and more streaming recommendations, but it has resulted in cluttered layouts that can lead to slower performance, especially when connected to spotty Wi-Fi. Additionally, the ads have become richer and more personalized, creeping up to the top of the home screen and taking up valuable space.
To remove these ads and declutter the Fire TV interface, Bryan recommends disabling featured autoplay content and turning off interest-based ads. He also suggests organizing the home screen by removing or rearranging apps without digging through the full app library.
