Amazon's Surprising Undervaluation Leaves Analysts Baffled
Two of America's top retailers, Amazon and Walmart, are on vastly different paths. While Walmart is trading near its lowest point this year at around €115 per share, up about 3% year-to-date, Amazon is nearing a 52-week high with a price of $262 per share, representing an increase of 14% since the beginning of the year.
Not only are their stock prices diverging, but their valuations differ significantly as well. Amazon's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio stands at 21, which is the lowest it has been in over a decade.
