AMD and Cisco Systems have launched a live AI infrastructure platform in Saudi Arabia as part of their partnership to establish an open ecosystem for artificial intelligence. The platform, developed with HUMAIN, combines AMD's Instinct MI355X graphics processors and EPYC central processors with Cisco's networking equipment.

The system connects GPU systems through a network designed to support large-scale AI computing, using Cisco's N9000 Series, Silicon One technology, and 800G optical equipment. The deployment is expected to expand capacity to 250 megawatts in 2027 as part of efforts to establish an open AI infrastructure ecosystem in the kingdom.

The Saudi expansion could provide AMD with another avenue for selling AI accelerators and data-center processors as regional infrastructure spending increases, according to the companies. Their broader joint venture remains positioned to reach up to one gigawatt of AI infrastructure by 2030, supported by customer demand.
