AMD Expands AI Infrastructure Across Middle East with Cisco and HUMAIN
AMD is expanding its Middle Eastern presence through massive enterprise computing rollouts. The hardware maker confirmed live deployments of its Instinct MI355X processors alongside partners Cisco and HUMAIN during the LEAP 2026 event in Riyadh.
The initiative aims to push regional artificial intelligence capacity to 1 gigawatt by 2030, giving local businesses direct access to dedicated hardware. In Saudi Arabia, production hardware is already operational and handling workloads for active clients, relying on AMD Instinct MI355X graphics chips, AMD EPYC server processors, and Cisco networking gear.
The group plans to deploy 250 megawatts of extra capacity starting in 2027, aligning with the economic goals of Vision 2030 by encouraging local development instead of relying entirely on foreign cloud providers. To support regional programmers and startups, AMD formed an initiative with the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology alongside the Digital Cooperation Organization.
This group provides open software tools, technical training, and governance frameworks to help engineers utilize the hardware. HUMAIN created the AI in a Box application platform to package AMD processors into smaller, accessible appliances for local companies to test models and automate tasks without building custom server farms from scratch.
