AMD Expands Saudi Arabia AI Footprint with New Platform
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has expanded its artificial intelligence footprint in Saudi Arabia by launching a new AI platform using AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and EPYC CPUs. The platform, developed with Cisco Systems and HUMAIN, will offer GPU-as-a-service for workloads ranging from AI model training to inference.
Cisco supplies the networking infrastructure, including its Silicon One technology, N9000 Series platform, and 800G optics.
The deployment marks an important milestone in AMD's work with HUMAIN and establishes an open, high-performance platform designed to expand over time. The partners plan to deploy up to 250 MW of additional AI infrastructure powered by AMD Instinct MI400 Series GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and ROCm open software alongside Cisco networking technology.
HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin said demand for sovereign, high-performance AI infrastructure continues to grow. Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins added that the region is moving from AI investment toward deployment.
