AMD Ownership Structure Revealed: Institutional Investors Hold the Majority
AMD, the second-largest player in the gaming graphics card market, is a publicly traded company on NASDAQ. The largest individual shareholder of AMD is Dr. Lisa T. Su, the CEO, who owns over 3.8 million shares. However, the majority of the shares, approximately 72%, are held by institutional investors.
The largest institutional shareholders include Vanguard Group Inc., BlackRock, and State Street Investment Management, each holding a significant portion of AMD's shares.
Amd has positioned itself as a more affordable alternative to Nvidia, with performance-wise comparable mid-range and lower-tier graphics cards. However, when it comes to high-end GPUs, Nvidia still reigns supreme in terms of performance despite its higher price point.
