AMD Poised to Overtake Nvidia in AI Hardware Market, Analysts Say

Financial analysts at GF Securities are optimistic about AMD's prospects in the AI hardware market. They expect AMD to narrow, and potentially surpass, Nvidia's lead with its upcoming Instinct accelerators.

The key catalyst for this prediction is AMD's upcoming Advancing AI 2026 event, which begins on July 22. At this event, AMD is expected to name Anthropic as a major new customer, with the deployment exceeding prior deals with Meta Platforms and OpenAI.

GF Securities raised its price target on AMD shares to $640 from $511, a 27% upside from Monday's closing price. The brokerage also bumped full-year revenue estimates to $52.3 billion for 2026 and $82.2 billion for 2027.
