AMD Users Hack Nvidia's DLSS 5 Onto Their GPUs
A modder has successfully implemented Nvidia's DLSS 5 on AMD Radeon GPUs, specifically the RDNA 4 and RDNA 3 cards.
The tool, dubbed 'DLSS-NR-on-AMD', requires a copy of the DLSS 5 DLL, the game to be run in DirectX 12 with FSR 4 or 3 support, and is only available for Radeon RX 9000 and 7000 series graphics cards.
The modder has tested it on Cyberpunk 2077 and GTA V Enhanced Edition, and claims that the output quality is very similar to the official Nvidia implementation. However, there is currently a significant performance hit, with the Radeon RX 9070 XT barely managing to deliver 30fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p.
The modder has already seen a 26% increase in performance from the first version and aims to get frame rates on par with the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti.
