American Airlines Unveils Luxe Flagship Suites on Boeing 777-300ER

American Airlines is upgrading its Boeing 777-300ER fleet by installing luxe Flagship Suites, offering more premium seats and improved amenities. The refurbished aircraft will feature 70 lie-flat seats in business class, up from 60 previously, as well as a larger premium economy cabin with 44 recliner seats.

The Flagship Suites on this aircraft are similar to those found on the carrier's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and Airbus A321XLRs. They feature a 1-2-1 configuration, lie-flat beds, privacy doors, and upgraded storage options. For an additional fee, passengers can opt for the larger Flagship Suite Preferred, which offers more bed space and living area.

American has committed to retrofitting all of its 777-300ERs with these new suites by the end of 2027, making this aircraft its flagship long-haul cabin. The airline expects to debut the refurbished aircraft on routes between New York and Buenos Aires, followed by a stint from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to London in September.

This upgrade is part of American's efforts to enhance its reputation as an airline offering high-end experiences, competing with rivals Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. The airline has removed the Flagship First cabin on this plane to accommodate more business class seats, resulting in a notable improvement for passengers.
