American Express has introduced enhanced features for its virtual card offerings to simplify payments for commercial clients across the United States. The updates aim to make payment processes more straightforward by integrating virtual cards into tools that businesses already rely on for managing expenses and programs.

The company's @Work platform now supports the generation, oversight, and deployment of virtual cards directly within the platform. Virtual cards function as unique digital numbers linked to a company’s account, allowing organizations to establish adjustable spending limits, define specific time periods for use, and apply restrictions based on location or merchant categories.

Eligible American Express Corporate Program customers can issue virtual cards not only to regular employees but also to contractors, interns, temporary staff, or guests. These cards support a broad range of needs, including supplier payments, routine purchases like office supplies or event services, and travel-related costs.
