American Express Overhauls SmartEarn Card Benefits and EMI Rules
American Express is revamping its SmartEarn card services, effective October 11, 2026. The company will introduce new features and alter existing ones to improve digital account management and benefits redemption.
Cardholders can expect a revamped online account experience across the American Express mobile app and website. A new Memberships tab on the Amex mobile app will group card benefits and offers in one place, making it easier for customers to access their rewards.
The EMI conversion rules are changing, allowing eligible cardholders to convert up to 10 individual transactions into EMIs directly from the transaction view. This limit is currently six transactions, and the conversion will be completed automatically and immediately without requiring a separate form submission.
