American Express Sees Increased Institutional Investment Amid Strong Earnings

American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) saw another significant investment from Oppenheimer Asset Management Inc. during the second quarter, according to a recent filing with the SEC.

The firm bought a new stake in American Express, purchasing 15,377 shares valued at approximately $5,201,000.

This is not an isolated incident, as other institutional investors have also recently increased their holdings in the payment services company. State Street Corp boosted its position by 1.3% in the fourth quarter, Fisher Asset Management LLC increased its stake by 1.6%, and Bank of America Corp DE grew its holding by 7.7%. Capital World Investors also acquired a new stake in American Express, growing its holding by 46.7%.

Institutional investors own approximately 84.33% of the company's stock, underscoring the significant interest from major investment firms.
