American Express will discontinue its Reward Multiplier programme in India on September 30, 2026, ending bonus points on direct purchases with select brands.

The company will continue to offer ShopWise and RewardXcelerator for accelerated rewards, but these programmes operate differently from the discontinued Reward Multiplier.

Cardholders who valued Reward Multiplier for its ease of use on large, direct purchases may see a change in how they earn points.
