Amex GBT Employs AI Across Travel Management Platform
Amex GBT is making significant strides in integrating AI capabilities across its travel management platform. The company has introduced several AI-powered enhancements, including an Egencia AI connector for Anthropic's Claude assistant. This connector enables travelers and enterprise AI agents to search, book, and manage policy-compliant air and hotel travel within Claude.
The connector is the first deployment of Amex GBT's proprietary agent-to-agent (A2A) architecture, which integrates travel management services into AI environments. It will be available to Egencia customers in 3Q2026. In addition, Amex GBT is extending conversational AI to Google Chat for Egencia customers and piloting a travel assistant for Neo users in Microsoft Teams.
Amex GBT has also updated its platform with an AI-powered Travel Manager Dashboard for Egencia customers. This dashboard provides real-time programme performance data, AI-generated summaries, alerts, and reporting tools. Complete by SAP Concur and Amex GBT users will also see new features, including spend leakage reporting, disruption management through the mobile app, and integrated supplier offers.
The company is expanding its Guest Travel & Expense platform, adding automated travel policy controls, simplified guest bookings, and a real-time dashboard for managing non-employee travel. This expansion is currently available in the US and UK, with Australia scheduled to follow in 4Q2026 and Singapore, Belgium, France, and Germany in later phases.
