Amex Offers 30% Bonus on Avios Transfers Until September 27th

American Express cardholders have a limited-time opportunity to transfer Membership Rewards points to Avios, British Airways' loyalty program. Through September 27th, Amex offers a 30% bonus on transfers to Avios, making it an attractive option for travelers. However, each program has its unique redemption values and route restrictions.

The transfer timing affects the cost per flight segment, especially for transatlantic or domestic U.S. awards. Transfers must be made in 1,000-point increments, with 10,000 Amex points becoming 13,000 Avios. This bonus is only available until September 27th, after which the effective costs will increase.

Aer Lingus' AerClub and British Airways have different redemption values. AerClub allows Dublin flights from 13,000 Avios, while British Airways enables Qsuite redemptions at 70,000 Avios. Domestic U.S. flights via American or Alaska start at 13,500 Avios through British Airways Club.
