Amex Revamps Platinum Travel Card Benefits, Lounge Access Rules
American Express is changing its Platinum Travel Credit Card benefits from September and October this year. The first set of changes will take effect on September 10.
The card's existing 7,500 Membership Rewards points for annual spends of ₹1.9 lakh will be discontinued on that date. However, the 10,000-point milestone linked to annual spends of ₹4 lakh will remain unchanged.
The change at ₹7 lakh annual spending level is significant. Under the revised rules, cardholders reaching this threshold will receive a ₹20,000 Taj Experiences e-Gift Card instead of the existing ₹10,000 benefit and 22,500 additional Membership Rewards points.
