Amex Shop Small Initiative Kicks Off in Australia with AUD $2 Million Grants

The American Express Shop Small initiative has launched in Australia for its 14th year. The program encourages consumers to spend in their local communities and supports small businesses across the country.

This year, Amex is providing up to AUD $2 million in grants through its Shop Small Grants program until September 6, 2026. An initial $1 million will be allocated with $20,000 grants to 50 small business owners.

For every eligible American Express Card transaction made at an eligible Shop Small business between August 1 and 7, Amex will contribute an additional $1 to the program, up to $1 million, providing up to 50 more grants of $20,000 each.
