American Express will introduce significant changes to its SmartEarn Credit Card from October 11, 2026. The card's benefits and features are being upgraded as part of a new technology supporting its card and account services.

The overhaul includes a revamped online account experience across the American Express mobile app and website. Cardholders will have more options to manage their cards digitally, including redeeming Membership Rewards points through the mobile app and transferring points to partner airlines and hotels.

American Express is also changing its EMI conversion rules, allowing eligible cardholders to convert up to 10 individual transactions into EMIs directly from the transaction view. However, customers will no longer be able to request EMI conversions through SMS or convert outstanding card balances into EMIs.
