Amgen is expanding its global research and development network by establishing a new Science and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad's Genome Valley. The centre, expected to become operational in 2027, will focus on discovery chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), and precision medicine.

The facility will bring together experimental science, data, digital technologies, and biotechnology to accelerate scientific discovery and support the development of innovative medicines. According to Dr. Jay Bradner, Executive Vice President of R&D, Artificial Intelligence, and Data at Amgen, the Hyderabad centre will strengthen the integration of science, data, and technology across the company's global research capabilities.

The new facility will work closely with Amgen's research sites worldwide, making India an increasingly important part of the company's global R&D ecosystem. Amgen India Managing Director Naveen Gullapalli highlighted Hyderabad's strong life sciences ecosystem and deep STEM talent as key advantages for applying advanced technologies at scale.
