Amgen Expands Presence in India with New Science Centre
Amgen, a global biotechnology company, is expanding its presence in Hyderabad's Genome Valley with a new Science and Innovation Centre. This move is part of Amgen's Global Research and Development network, which already has seven research labs around the world. The new centre will enable the company to conduct more research and enhance its scientific capabilities.
According to Jay Bradner, an executive at Amgen who leads Research and Development, Artificial Intelligence, and Data, the new centre will help combine science with data and technology across the company's global research work. This collaboration aims to speed up the discovery of new medicines for patients worldwide.
The Telangana Minister, Sridhar Babu, announced the news, stating that the new centre will create jobs for skilled workers and contribute to Hyderabad's growth as a hub for life sciences research. He also requested Amgen to prioritize hiring young talent from Telangana.
