Amgen Gains Institutional Support Amid Successful Clinical Trials
Amgen Inc., NASDAQ: AMGN, is gaining institutional support as Coastal Bridge Advisors LLC acquired a new position in shares of the medical research company's stock. In its most recent 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the firm disclosed it had purchased 14,287 shares valued at approximately $5,174,000.
This is not an isolated instance, as other institutional investors are also increasing their stakes in Amgen. BlackRock Inc., for example, boosted its position by 4.8% in the second quarter and now owns 49,362,016 shares of Amgen's stock, valued at $17,874,974,000.
Amgen is also making progress on various fronts, including a successful Phase 3 trial of Tezspire for eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). The drug met both co-primary and all key secondary endpoints, producing statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in tissue inflammation and difficulty swallowing.
The EoE opportunity could expand Amgen's commercial potential, as analysts view it as a possible blockbuster market. Regulatory filing and approval are still necessary before the opportunity can translate into revenue, but this development bodes well for the company's long-term prospects.
