Biotech giant Amgen Inc. has revealed a major cybersecurity breach that compromised sensitive corporate files and patient protected health information.

The California-based drugmaker disclosed in a regulatory filing with the SEC that unauthorized third parties accessed its third-party cloud storage environments, exfiltrating proprietary business records, patient health details, and confidential internal information.

Amgen initially detected suspicious activity on July 1, 2026, but did not formally classify the breach as material until July 29. Forensic investigators continue to evaluate the full scope of the compromised data.

The company has assured investors and healthcare partners that the incident has not disrupted its primary commercial or clinical operations, including drug manufacturing capabilities and core product supply lines.
