Golf enthusiasts from Carlow and Kilkenny are flocking to County Clare for the Amgen Irish Open at the Trump International Golf Links course.

The event marks its first time hosting the tournament, which has drawn in several prominent golfers, including reigning champion Rory McIlroy.

Kilkenny player Mark Power is among the Irish competitors, taking to the course just before 8am this morning. He will be followed by Shane Lowry, who won the event in 2009.
