Amgen Launches Inaugural Scholars Program in India at IIIT Hyderabad
Amgen has launched its first Amgen Scholars Program in India at IIIT Hyderabad. The program is a two-year commitment from Amgen, which aims to inspire the next generation of scientific innovators through AI-enabled research in healthcare and drug discovery.
The inaugural cohort consists of 10 undergraduate scholars from India, Vietnam, Qatar, and Dubai. These students will participate in an intensive two-month residential research experience at IIIT Hyderabad, where they will explore artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in various fields, including fundamental sciences, drug design and discovery, healthcare, and genomics.
The program is supported through a two-year commitment from Amgen, which reflects the company's long-standing commitment to advancing science education. The Amgen Scholars Program has been successful in the US, with over 4,000 students participating since its inception. This expansion to India aims to build on that success and provide opportunities for scientific collaboration and exchange across Asia.
