Amgen Posts Strong Second-Quarter Growth with Revenue Hitting $10.1 Billion
Amgen, a biotechnology company, has released its second-quarter financial results for 2026. According to Robert A. Bradway, chairman and chief executive officer, the company's performance demonstrates strong growth across its business.
The total revenue for the quarter increased by 10% to $10.1 billion compared to the same period in 2025. This was driven by a 9% increase in product sales, with 22 products showing double-digit growth. Seventeen products are now annualizing at more than $1 billion based on second-quarter sales.
The company's GAAP earnings per share (EPS) increased by 65%, from $2.65 to $4.37, driven by higher revenues. Non-GAAP EPS, however, only increased by 4% due to higher operating expenses and income tax expense. The free cash flow for the quarter was $3.5 billion, a significant increase from $1.9 billion in the same period last year.
Some of Amgen's key products showed notable growth. Repatha (evolocumab) sales increased by 37% to $953 million, while EVENITY (romosozumab-aqqg) sales grew by 38% to $714 million. However, Prolia (denosumab) sales decreased by 32% due to the launch of biosimilars.
Amgen is confident in its ability to deliver growth well into the next decade, driven by new indications and pipeline molecules. The company continues to engage with regulatory bodies, such as the FDA, to advance its products.
