Amgen Scholars Program Expands to India with IIIT Hyderabad as Inaugural Host
The Amgen Scholars Program has expanded to India for the first time, with IIIT Hyderabad as its inaugural host. This program aims to nurture the next generation of scientific innovators by providing hands-on research experience at leading universities.
Since its inception in 2006, the Amgen Scholars Program has offered talented students the opportunity to work alongside renowned faculty and tackle real-world scientific challenges. The program is a signature initiative of the Amgen Foundation and is hosted at 26 leading educational and research institutions globally.
This year, IIIT Hyderabad selected 10 undergraduate scholars from India and across Asia to participate in the program. The students conducted AI-driven healthcare and drug discovery research projects across various labs at IIIT Hyderabad, addressing contemporary scientific challenges.
