Amgen Sets Up Shop in Hyderabad for Cutting-Edge Medicine Research
US-based biotechnology firm Amgen has announced plans to establish a new Science and Innovation Centre at Genome Valley in Hyderabad. The facility is expected to become operational by 2027, joining Amgen's existing network of seven research laboratories worldwide.
The centre will integrate advanced scientific capabilities with data and digital innovation to accelerate the discovery and development of innovative medicines. It will bring together scientists and technologists from various fields, including chemistry, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and precision medicine.
According to Jay Bradner, Executive Vice President of Research and Development at Amgen, the new centre in Hyderabad expands the way the company integrates experimental science with data and technology across its global research capabilities. By connecting these capabilities, Amgen can learn faster and translate insights into innovative medicines for patients.
