The company's adjusted earnings per share came in at $6.29 for the quarter, beating analyst forecasts of roughly $5.60 to $5.62. Amgen reported a 10% year-over-year increase in total revenue to $10.1 billion, with product sales rising 9%. The company highlighted that 22 products delivered double-digit sales growth during the quarter.
The company's CEO, Robert Bradway, emphasized the strong performance across its business, stating, 'Our results demonstrate strong performance across our business. Our six key growth drivers grew 26% year over year, generating nearly 70% of second-quarter product sales.'
