Amgen Teams Up with MrBeast for Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative
Pharmaceutical company Amgen has partnered with YouTube personality MrBeast and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) for an initiative called the SU2C Pediatric Cancer Dream Team. The campaign aims to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research.
The effort kicked off with a 15-minute video by MrBeast, which has garnered 50 million views since its posting in late July. Amgen reports that within an hour of posting, the video generated 1.7 million views and 250,000 engagements.
Amgen's head of corporate affairs, Susie Tappouni, explained that while fundraising is a key aspect, the campaign also seeks to accelerate pediatric cancer research through collaborative research projects that bring together leading scientists, physicians, and institutions.
The Stand Up To Cancer Pediatric Cancer Dream Team has set a $10 million fundraising goal, with Amgen, Beast Philanthropy, and the St. Baldrick's Foundation contributing a collective $6.5 million to support this effort.
