Amul Surpasses Global Rivals as World's Strongest Dairy Brand
Brand Finance has released its Food & Drinks 2026 report, ranking global food and dairy brands by their value. According to the report, Amul is now the world's strongest dairy brand after a 22% increase in valuation to $5 billion in a year.
The Indian company boasts a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 93/100 and an AAA+ rating. It ranks fourth among dairy brands and 13th in the Food 100 rankings. Amul's success is part of a trend in India where other regional dairy brands, such as Nandini, are also gaining visibility.
Nestle remains the most valuable food brand globally with its valuation jumping 23% to $24.6 billion. Coca-Cola tops the non-alcoholic drinks rankings but saw a slight decline in value to $46.1 billion. Yilli, Asia's largest dairy company, is the most valuable non-alcoholic dairy brand.
Brand Finance attributes growth across the world to health-led positioning and innovation, as well as portfolio diversification. However, some global brands are facing challenges, such as Tyson, which saw a significant decline in brand value due to rising cattle costs and supply shortages.
