ANA Boeing 767 Escapes Midair Collision by Just 70 Feet Near Tokyo Haneda

A near-miss incident occurred on Tuesday morning at Tokyo Haneda Airport when an All Nippon Airways (ANA) Boeing 767-300 narrowly avoided a midair collision with a Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) Cessna Citation CJ4.

The ANA flight, NH968, was arriving from Shanghai Pudong Airport and landed safely without injuries. The JCAB aircraft was conducting a scheduled flight inspection, verifying the accuracy of airport navigation and landing systems.

According to air traffic control audio, both aircraft converged at around 1,000 feet, prompting an urgent warning from controllers to take immediate action. The ANA crew received a TCAS Resolution Advisory, which instructed them to initiate a go-around and climb away from the runway.
