Android Auto Speedometer Disappears, But It's Not a Bug
Google's live speedometer feature in Maps on Android Auto has been causing confusion for some users. The feature, which shows real-time speed and other map details, had been rolled out earlier this year. However, some users reported that it was no longer visible on their screens.
After investigating the issue, Google explained that the problem was not a bug or an error, but rather a limitation in the feature's rollout process. According to Mishaal Rahman, a Googler who spoke with the Android Auto team, the speedometer feature is still rolling out and may not be available to everyone yet.
Rahman confirmed that users can access the speedometer by setting a destination for their next drive. This will enable them to see the speedometer, as well as other map details such as speed limits and traffic signals.
