Android Drops Motion Assist and Guided Vision to Improve Accessibility

Google has rolled out two major updates as part of its latest Android Drop. The first feature, called Motion Assist, aims to alleviate motion sickness in users while driving or traveling in a vehicle. This is achieved through a subtle bubble overlay on the screen that moves with the vehicle.

The bubbles appear on the sides of the phone and can be activated via the Quick Settings tile or automatically turn on when the user is detected in a car, bus, or train. Users will also find customization options to make Motion Assist their own.

The second major update is Guided Vision, which relies on Gemini Live AI technology. This feature provides audio descriptions of what's in front of the user, helping with tasks such as reading fine print or locating objects. Guided Vision is expected to roll out soon to phones running Android 9 or newer where Gemini is available.
