Android Gets 5 Big Updates: Find Hub, Motion Assist, and More

Google has rolled out the September Android Feature Drop, bringing five new features to Android devices. The updates include improvements to Find Hub, a collaborative effort between Google Keep and Google Messages, a feature to reduce motion sickness when riding in cars, guided vision with Gemini Live, and custom Chat Themes in Google Messages.

The most notable update is the ability for Find Hub to remember locations of items without needing a connection. Users can tell Gemini to remember where something is, and Find Hub will store that information. This feature is available on Android 16+ devices.

Google Keep and Google Messages have also been integrated to allow users to create and share collaborative notes. The feature allows multiple people to contribute to a list in a chat thread, making it easier to plan vacations or grocery shopping.

Motion Assist has been updated to help reduce motion sickness when using phones while riding in cars. The feature uses a subtle bubble overlay on the screen that moves with the vehicle, bridging the gap between what the eyes see and the movement of the ride.
