Android Gets Motion-Sickness Relief and Accessibility Boost

Google is rolling out five new updates for Android phones to improve accessibility and personalization. One of the most significant features is 'Motion Assist,' which aims to reduce motion sickness in users while traveling. This feature adds a bubble overlay on the screen that moves in sync with the vehicle's motion, helping users adjust their experience.

The update also includes 'Guided Vision,' designed for blind and low-vision users, combining the phone's camera with Gemini to aid tasks such as reading small print or identifying objects. Additionally, a 'remembered items' section will be added to Find Hub, allowing users to store information about where they've placed important items.

Google Messages is getting more personalization options, including customizable backgrounds and colors for individual chats. The feature leverages Gemini to provide these improvements. While some of the features see Google playing catch-up with Apple's similar offerings, others specifically utilize Gemini to offer unique benefits.
