Android User Swaps Traditional Navigation for Swipe Gestures After Discovering Hidden Features
Jade Bryan, an experienced Android journalist, recently made a surprising switch from traditional three-button navigation to swipe gestures on his devices.
Bryan had been clinging to classic buttons for years, but after trying the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, he found that gesture navigation was more efficient and intuitive.
He discovered that enabling swipe gestures allowed him to customize features such as mapping the swipe-up gesture to launch his preferred assistant or tweaking back gesture sensitivity.
Bryan's experience with swipe gestures also led him to discover a useful hidden feature: using the thin navigation bar at the bottom of the screen to switch between open and recent apps by swiping left to right.
