Animal Kingdom Extended Evening Hours Lack Key Attraction

Disney has confirmed that its Animal Kingdom theme park will be offering Extended Evening Theme Park Hours for the next few years. This perk allows guests staying at certain Disney hotels to visit the park later than usual, but a recent look at the current attraction lineup reveals some surprising omissions.

The four attractions currently scheduled to operate during Extended Evening Hours are Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Na'vi River Journey, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether!. This is particularly thin compared to other Disney parks like Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, which have lengthy lists of attractions available during this time.

Kilimanjaro Safaris was once a nighttime experience at Animal Kingdom, but it has largely disappeared in recent years. The omission of this attraction from the Extended Evening Hours lineup is particularly noticeable, as Disney had previously made an effort to turn Animal Kingdom into a nighttime destination.

The absence of Kilimanjaro Safaris suggests that nighttime safaris may not be part of Disney's immediate plans. However, the company can adjust its offerings at any time, and attraction availability is subject to change.
