Anthropic CEO Denies Intent to Conquer SaaS Industry Amid Partnership with Salesforce

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has sought to dispel concerns that his AI startup is out to conquer the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry. In an interview with CNBC, Amodei emphasized that Anthropic's goal is to create value for its customers, not destroy them.

'We're not interested in destroying anyone,' Amodei said. 'We think of this as a very positive sum thing, right?'

This comes after an announcement from Anthropic in late January about plugins for Claude Cowork, which was met with concern on Wall Street and led to a $1 trillion wipeout in the software sector.

However, since then, some SaaS companies, including Salesforce, have recovered ground. Thursday was even the second-best day ever for Salesforce shares, trailing only a COVID-19 pandemic era boom, CNBC reported.
