Anthropic Eyes Historic IPO with $2 Trillion Valuation
Anthropic is gearing up for what could be one of the largest initial public offerings (IPOs) in history, with the company nearing a decision on which investment banks to partner with. According to the Financial Times, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are reportedly close to securing key positions, including lead left and stabilization agent roles respectively.
The Claude developer is expected to make its filing public as soon as this month under the ticker symbol ANTH, with a potential stock market debut in October. The company is targeting a valuation of up to $2 trillion, which would surpass SpaceX's earlier record of $1.78 trillion and potentially become the largest IPO on record.
JPMorgan, Citigroup, and Barclays are also expected to participate in the offering, as they have previously provided financing to Anthropic. The company's July revenue reached an annualized rate of $65 billion, below the $80 billion figure some investors had been expecting.
