Anthropic Locks Down $35 Billion Cloud Deal with Nvidia-Backed Lambda
Anthropic has secured a significant cloud computing deal worth $35 billion over six years with Lambda, a provider backed by Nvidia. This deal is part of Anthropic's efforts to secure large-scale computing capacity ahead of its anticipated public offering.
The arrangement involves Lambda leasing access to a data center in Nueces County, Texas, being developed by Hut 8, a Bitcoin miner turned data center operator. Nvidia will lease the facility from Hut 8 and then supply chips and computing resources to Anthropic through Lambda.
This deal follows a separate agreement with Nscale for capacity at a facility in West Virginia, valued at $45 billion. Taken together with earlier commitments this year, Anthropic's total computing deals amount to at least $135 billion.
