Anthropic Nabs $15 Billion Credit Facility Ahead of IPO
Anthropic, the maker of Claude, a popular chatbot, is set to finalize a $15 billion credit facility ahead of its highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO). This move comes after the company secured a five-year $2.5 billion facility last year and is seeking to raise as much as SpaceX or more in its IPO.
The expanded revolving credit facility will be led by Morgan Stanley, with Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Citigroup playing prominent roles. Other banks, including Barclays and Wells Fargo, are expected to have key positions on the loan.
The $15 billion credit line is significantly larger than Anthropic's initial target of $10 billion, indicating the company's growing financial needs as it prepares for its IPO. The four leading banks on the facility - Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Citigroup - are also set to lead Anthropic's IPO.
