David Tepper's hedge fund, Appaloosa Management LP, has increased its stake in Amazon.com (AMZN) by acquiring an additional 680,000 shares. This move marks a significant boost to the fund's position in the e-commerce giant.

The hedge fund's decision to increase its AMZN holdings comes as Spark, TipRanks' AI Analyst, maintains a 'Outperform' rating on the stock. According to Spark, Amazon's improving profitability and returns are key drivers of this assessment.

However, Spark also notes that negative TTM free cash flow and management's increased capital expenditures (CapEx) plan may keep cash generation and margins volatile in the near term. The analyst's score is tempered by these concerns, but overall, AMZN's strong trend strength versus major moving averages and upbeat earnings call are seen as positives.

With a current market cap of $2.883 trillion and an average trading volume of 50,118,616 shares, Amazon.com (AMZN) has been performing well this year, with a YTD price increase of 14.86%.
