Apple Cuts 200 Jobs from Siri and Vision Pro Units
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has announced plans to cut over 200 jobs across its Siri and Vision Pro units, according to a recent report.
The company is redirecting resources towards artificial intelligence and new hardware, with the cuts affecting roughly 100 roles in the Vision Pro organization, including the gaming team and immersive video unit.
Another 100 positions are being eliminated from the Siri and related software groups, including the Intelligent Systems Experience team that handles on-device AI features.
The cuts are tied to rebuilding Siri's AI architecture, which requires different expertise than the current team provides. Apple stated in a statement that it is realigning teams 'to evolve our business to deliver the best experiences for our users' and will create new roles alongside the cuts.
Apple is currently focusing on smart glasses, which would not support advanced gaming or immersive video, with a successor Vision Pro model reportedly under consideration for as early as late 2028.
