Apple Expands Domestic Manufacturing with Houston Center and $2.2B Tariff Refund
Apple Inc., the tech giant behind AAPL, has made significant strides in its domestic manufacturing efforts. The company recently opened a 20,000 sq ft Houston Advanced Manufacturing Center, which began shipping AI servers just over a year after its establishment. This move marks Apple's ongoing investment in its US-based operations, with hundreds of millions poured into the project.
The center is set to expand its production capabilities later this year, with plans for Mac mini manufacturing. Apple has also received about $2.2 billion in tariff refunds last quarter, which have been included in its quarterly earnings report.
Gene Munster remains optimistic about AAPL's prospects, forecasting a high-end iPhone upgrade cycle that could boost average selling prices despite the lack of details on the iPhone 18.
