Apple Foldable iPhone Aims for 20% of Revenue
Dan Ives, partner at Yorkville Advisors, is optimistic about Apple's new foldable iPhone, saying it could account for up to 20% of iPhone revenue. This would translate to around $42 billion in annual sales, based on the company's fiscal 2025 iPhone revenue of $209.6 billion.
Ives' estimate is higher than that of Gene Munster, who projects a 10% share in fiscal 2027. Munster believes this will be driven by Pro Max buyers upgrading to the foldable device, increasing iPhone revenue by around 5% and total Apple revenue by about 2.5%.
IDC forecasts Apple will ship over 17 million foldable iPhones by 2027 at an average selling price above $2,550, generating more than $45.7 billion in value. Ives expects Apple to continue expanding its AI capabilities and make a bigger push around the iPhone's 20th anniversary next year.
However, traders are less bullish on Apple's chances of regaining the valuation crown this year, with Polymarket giving Nvidia a 79% chance of ending 2026 as the world's largest company by market capitalization.
