Apple Leaves India Import Question Unanswered Amid iPhone 18 Pro Launch
Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have arrived in India, priced at ₹1,64,900 for the base model and ₹1,79,900 for the larger version. These prices are among the highest Apple lists worldwide, sparking debate about whether buyers will opt to purchase the phones abroad and bring them back home.
The pre-orders opened on Saturday, September 12, at 5:30 pm IST, with the phones set to hit stores on Friday, September 18. Buyers can also take advantage of No Cost EMI options and up to ₹15,000 cashback with qualifying American Express, Axis Bank, or ICICI Bank cards.
However, Apple's India store has left one crucial question unanswered: what happens when a unit is bought outside India and brought back into the country? The silence on this issue stands out, given the significant price gap between India and other markets. Apple's own support pages linked from the India store do not address the scenario either.
