Apple MacBook Air Faces Stock Shortages Amid Memory Constraints
Apple is facing stock shortages of its MacBook Air due to memory constraints. The issue has led to significant price hikes, with the laptop's starting price in India increasing by almost 24% from ₹1,20,900 to ₹1,49,900.
The Cupertino-based tech giant is struggling to keep the MacBook Air in stock at retail stores, with shipments of new units said to be more constrained than ever. This comes just a few weeks after Apple decided to hike the prices of its MacBook and iPad lineup due to the ongoing memory chip crisis.
To alleviate the issue, Apple is looking to source memory from Chinese suppliers, at least for devices sold in that country. The company is also prioritizing sales of the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro in order to clear the decks for an M6 refresh of that lineup.
