US President Donald Trump announced that Apple Maps has renamed Lake Ontario to 'Lake America', declaring the change 'complete, ratified, and binding' across both Apple and Google platforms.

The name change follows an executive directive signed by Trump calling for the lake's renaming in federal databases and official materials within 30 days. The change was implemented after a similar adjustment last year when Apple changed 'Gulf of Mexico' to 'Gulf of America' at Trump's request.

However, not all mapping services have adopted the new name, with MapQuest stating it has no plans to make the change.
