Apple is continually improving its Apple Pay service, which has become a go-to payment method for many iPhone users. The latest updates include four new features and one major expansion that will make using Apple Pay even more convenient.

The first new feature is a redesigned Apple Pay checkout interface in iOS 27. This redesign makes it easier to switch between different cards during the checkout process on websites and in apps. Users can now easily swipe between cards or tap on a card to view all their available Apple Pay cards, along with information about individual cards such as rewards, balances, and pay later options.

The second feature is a partnership with American Express that allows users to pay with American Express rewards points. When shopping online or in apps with an American Express card, users will see a new 'Use Rewards' option alongside their available Membership Rewards points balance. They can apply points to cover all or part of their purchase directly in the Apple Pay checkout flow.

The third feature is called Tap to Share, which integrates with Apple Pay on iPhone for in-store shopping. This feature allows customers to connect to a participating merchant's iPhone for a more personalized and faster in-store purchase experience that enables secure sharing of information such as email and other contact information, shipping address, loyalty rewards information, and more.

The fourth new feature is the ability to manage debit card balances directly in the Apple Pay interface. Later this year, users will be able to add money to a supported debit card directly in Apple Wallet or when checking out.

Additionally, Walmart has announced that it is starting to roll out support for Apple Pay, with the rollout expected to complete by the end of the year. This means that Apple Pay will soon be available at all Walmart locations in the United States.
